Maximum Benefit Pet Insurance

With a maximum benefit policy you are allowed to claim up to a maximum amount for any condition that your pet develops, regardless of how long the treatment takes.

This could be very useful if you pet develops a fairly low cost, but long term illness, like diabetes. It's not as comprehensive as lifetime pet insurance, but the premiums will be much cheaper.

Advantages of maximum benefit pet insurance

  • It's not time-limited so it could provide cover for several years, as long as the maximum amount for that condition has not been reached
  • The premiums will be less expensive than a lifetime pet insurance policy.

Disadvantages of maximum benefit pet insurance

  • Once you've reached your limit for an individual condition, you won't be able to claim for it again.
  • If your pet needs very expensive treatment you could reach your limit very quickly.
